iCloud Sync
iCloud Sync keeps your views and app settings aligned across devices signed into the same Apple ID. It is free and on by default.
How to turn it on or off
- Open Settings → iCloud & Data.
- Toggle iCloud Sync.
Sync happens through your own iCloud account using Apple’s sync service. Apple encrypts the data; so & so cannot read it and runs no server of its own.
What syncs
- Saved views: names, keywords, colours, icons, date ranges, and advanced rules
- App settings: View Defaults, widget preferences, and other Soona preferences stored locally
What does not sync
- Calendar contents: events always live in Apple Calendar on each device
- Hidden events list: hidden event IDs stay on the device where you hid them (see Hidden events)
- Alert schedules: iOS rebuilds reminders per device when you open the app
Apple Watch
Views sync to Apple Watch directly from your iPhone when you use the phone app, independent of iCloud Sync. iCloud Sync helps when you use Soona on more than one device signed into the same Apple ID.
Turning sync off
Disable the toggle in Settings → iCloud & Data. Data already in your iCloud container stays until you delete it in iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage → Soona.
